Currently Out of Stock due to Low Germination

Guarantee: Cucumber Shop guarantees only seed quality and purity and will not be liable for more than the purchase price.

~Presprouting~

Higher germination can be achieved by presprouting seed.
Presprouting is different from transplanting. While transplanting can stunt cucumber growth, presprouting can save growing time and help you achieve greater success in growing cucumbers. Below are pictures of one method of presprouting.

One method of presprouting cucumbers is to use a Ziploc & a paper towel

After folding the paper towel into fouths, insert the paper towel, then the seeds

Next- Add water to the paper towel (just enough to wet the paper towel). It is important to wring (or press) out any excess water before closing the ziploc bag. Too much water can make the seeds rot!

Then place seeds in a warm (not hot) place and each day, hold the bag up to the light

Prespouted seed should be immediately sown in the planting location.

  3. Dear Burton,

Definitely! I am trying to access more varieties. I only wish I could do more. This is definitely a "hobby" offering - meaning that I make almost nothing on this and that only the patronage of others purchasing seed allows me to continue offering what I have.
